We talk about an article featured on Project Ava on how Buzzfeed's "People Try Durian (The Smelliest Fruit In The World)" video is, well, can be seen as pretty darn racist.
Some people weren't happy that our beloved durian was featured as less-than-perfect. Some people were even less happy that they were all not very familiar with the very special place durian has in our hearts - and stomachs!
So what happens when cultures meet in a hyperconnected world? How do we deal when lifestyles and foods that would be normal on the other side of the world show up at our doors? Are people right to freak out? Is it ok to laugh? And when is it okay to be offended?
